The W-EMG is a research device developed at LISiN within a PhD fellowship sponsored by Bitron.

The W-EMG is based on experience gained during research projects supported by the European Union, the European Space Agency and local Bank Foundations.

Its characteristics (exceptionally low noise, high immunity to movement artifacts and high power-line interference rejection) make it suitable for a variety of neurophysiological investigations and for applications in many clinical fields as well as for didactic purposes.

Examples of applications are illustrated in the LISiN website (www.lisin.polito.it).

T h e   L a b o r a t o r y   f o r   E n g i n e e r i n g  o f   t h e Neuromuscular System (LISiN) is a research lab of the Politecnico di Torino with 15 years’ experience in the field of non invasive EMG imaging acquisition, interpretation and modelling of surface EMG.

LISiN holds worldwide recognised expertise on the development and use of grids of surface electrodes to map muscle activation from the skin surface (EMG imaging). The developed techniques find applications in physiology, rehabilitation, ergonomics, sports, space medicine and obstetrics.

Prototypes of W-EMG are available to partners of LISiN within the framework of jointly sponsored research programs and efforts concerning surface EMG and its applications.
